About the Race

Explore San Carlos’ outstanding trail system as a runner in the second annual No Foolin’ Foot Race! The No Foolin’ Foot Race offers a challenging 5k (~530ft of climbing) and 10k (~1,500ft of climbing) course through Big Canyon and Eaton Parks. Start and Finish Festival at Crestview Park. This year, we’re excited to include a 1 mile course (~350ft of climbing) for children ages 6-12!

Register by Feb. 6 for ‘early bird’ pricing!

  • 5k: $40 ($50 after Feb. 6)
  • 10k: $50 ($60 after Feb. 6)
  • Kids Course: $10

Logistics and Policies

Start Times: 10k – 9:00 AM; 5k – TBC

Bib Pickup: Race Morning @ Crestview Park: 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM. Please arrive early!

Parking: Street parking is available along Brittan Ave. and Crestview Drive. No participant parking available at Crestview Park. Carpooling is strongly encouraged

Course Marking: The course will be marked regularly with white flags (5k) and green surveyor tape (10k). Further, there will be white signs at all intersections (followed by more flag/tape markings). If you make a turn and don’t see green or white course markings, do 10 jumping jacks, then go back and find the course! Yellow trail spray and caution tape is also utilized to block trails that are NOT part of the course. Course monitors will be stationed throughout both parks to help you with tricky intersections. Please be nice to the volunteers and say hello and thank you!

Park Information: Big Canyon and Eaton Parks Start and Finish Festival at Crestview Park.

Timing: All races are professionally chip timed thanks to A Runner’s Mind Productions, ensuring your time is captured as accurately as possible. Disposable chips are attached to the back of each bib number.

Cut Off Times: If you do not cross the finish line by 11:30AM, your time will not be recorded.

Amenities: Bathrooms (porta potty and permanent restrooms with changing tables) available at Crestview Park. Playground, picnic tables and lawn games for spectators.

Spectating: Highly encouraged! Great viewing sports include the mouth of Big Canyon Park, Hawk Hill Bypass in Eaton Park and final gut-busting climb of the 10k just below the intersection of Brittan Ave and Crestview Drive.

Aid Stations: As suggested by last year’s runner’s the 10k course will have two aid stations, the first at the mouth of Big Canyon Park and a second at the Eaton Labyrinth. Thanks for the feedback!

Post Race: We will offer plenty of water and Skratch, as well as a selection of sweet and savory refreshments.

Dog Policy: Dogs may spectate, but not participate in this year’s race. All dogs must remain on leash. No Exceptions.

Winding and forested single-track packed with punchy hills and tight turns gives way to rewarding views of San Francisco, Mt. Diablo and the Bay.
