Crestview Park
Crestview, as one of the newest of the City’s park sites, has evolved into a well laid out, well-used facility. With the improved athletic field, it encounters virtually year-round soccer play. A.Y.S.O. schedules their upper division leagues here in the fall, C.Y.S.A. makes use of the field in the spring, Central School plays games and conducts practices in the spring, and City soccer clinics and instructional classes are held year round. The basketball courts and children’s play area is used significantly by the increasing number of families living nearby. The paved area also has stanchions that make it accessible for volleyball play. The sandbox area has several climbing apparatuses, as well as benches on the perimeter for seated observation. A large swale was created to divert rain runoff away from this area. The jogging path is frequented by walkers and joggers alike and has distance markers for serious exercisers.
