Everyone in San Carlos is invited to join the celebration of the completion of the Laureola Playground Renovation Project on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 10:00am. Laureola Park is located at 503 Old County Road.

The improvement project includes a complete renovation of both the tot play area at the park in addition to the play area for ages 5 to 12, and the addition of a new splash pad water feature, similar to the one added to Burton Park during that playground renovation project. The new structure will have a nature look and feel, with more climbing pieces, swings, slides, and imaginative play features than the earlier equipment.

The City’s Parks & Recreation Department held several neighborhood meetings to gather in the input from the Greater East San Carlos/Laureola Park community on the proposed project and the play area features during the design of the project. Neighborhood comments and input led to project enhancements including the addition of the splash pad water feature.

For more information on the project, please contact the Parks & Recreation Department at (650) 802-4382 or visit the City of San Carlos website at www.cityofsancarlos.org.
